Senia Anderson Coffey Kuykendall, of Hamlet, North Carolina, graduated this life with honors on Dec. 18, 2025.
Heaven kissed this earth with her arrival on Jan. 5, 1940. She was the daughter of George Richard Anderson and Lois Virgina Borton of Peoria, Illinois. She was also blessed with her stepfather, the late Louis Hernandez, and her stepmother, the late Maxine Anderson.
Growing up, although it was hard and she met many challenges, she overcame them and grew to be the loving, caring parent and friend that she was. She enjoyed ice skating outside, roller skating, all types of music, dancing, horseback rides, and laughter shared with family and friends. Her greatest passion was love — love for her family, her friends, and the joy of togetherness. She made every holiday sparkle, every birthday feel like a celebration, and every gathering a memory to treasure.
Senia carried deep pride in her Native American heritage, often speaking of the strength, independence, and determination that flowed through her spirit.
She met Patrick Joseph Coffey, and they married in 1958, and they were blessed with three children. Later, in 1974, Senia married Franklin David Kuykendall. He had already been blessed by three children from a previous marriage and then together they had three more children. By devine design they created a beautiful blended family — a tapestry of love and unity.
Senia’s life in her earlier years was full of many of life’s challenges, yet rich with experiences. She modeled, worked as a car hop, and later co-owned a restaurant and billiard parlor with Frank. But her favorite role came later — working in the Kmart Garden Department, where she found joy in meeting people from all walks of life. She retired from that position with a heart full of gratitude for the connections she made.
She was a total giver of self! An open-hearted teacher, fun-loving, humorous and the best person to be around and have in your corner. Born into the Catholic faith, she explored many paths, and in 1978 became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. As she grew in her understanding of the Gospel, her relationship with Her Lord and Savior became personal. Her ultimate desire was to have her family sealed for time and eternity!
As she neared her graduation, her love that she had shown over all the years, was reciprocated tenfold, by the family and friends that surrounded her, as her family met her at the gates.
