ROCKINGHAM — The curtain will be going up again for a play written by a Richmond County native.
“The Praying Grandma,” written by Dr. Ken Mask, is scheduled for an encore performance on Saturday, March 29 at the auditorium of the Leak Street Education and Cultural Center in Rockingham.
Director and actor Bruce Stanback said the original performances March 14-16 were successful, with more than 500 tickets sold.
Stanback previously told the RO that Mask wrote the play as “kind of as a tribute to his mother” — retired educator Gloria Mask — inspired by a photo Mask took of her praying.
In addition to Stanback, the cast also includes Valjean Hargrove, Anitra Ingram-Robinson, Ahmana Ingram, Orrick McDougald, Kimberly Harrington, Mosby Watkins, Artoria Smith and James Townsend.
Tickets are $15 and are available at the Leak Street center or by calling Stanback at 910-331-4246.
