The Rev. Reddin Franklin 'Buddy' Hill

HAMLET — The Rev. Reddin Franklin “Buddy” Hill, 87, of Hamlet, went to be with his Lord Monday, April 12, 2021, at Roper Hospital, Charleston, South Carolina.

The Rev. Hill was born Jan. 14, 1934 in Wilson County, son of Robert Lee Hill and Rachel Luevenia Bailey Hill.

He was a minister for over 30 years at First Free Will Baptist Church, Hamlet, a member of Mount Carmel Free Will Baptist, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. A man that truly loved God, his family and his church family; they were his life. He had a quick wit and sense of humor as he enjoyed making people laugh. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will surely be missed! 

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Mount Carmel Free Will Baptist Church from 6-8 p.m.

The funeral will be Friday, April 16, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Mount Carmel Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Childers officiating.

Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn Butler Hill; daughters, Sharon Norton (Okcuse) of Laurel Hill and Michelle Perakis (Jason) of Rockingham; sons, Bobby Hill (Audra) of Mullins, South Carolina, Tommy Hill (Maryglenn) of Rockingham and Michael Hill (Candace) of Leland; sister, Janet Hill of Lucama; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
