HAMLET — Police have charged three males — ages 17, 18 and 19 — in connection to a late-December robbery.

According to warrants, 19-year-old Leroy Sincere Cary Hubbard Jr., 18-year-old Johnny Ray Joyner Jr. and 17-year-old Kenneth Lee Joyner brandished semi-automatic handguns while robbing the reported victim of $4,000 on the porch of a Carr Street home Dec. 29, 2025.

The listed address for the Joyners is northwest of Rockingham and Hubbard lives in the Meadowood neighborhood near Cordova, records show.

The Hamlet Police Department obtained warrants on Jan. 6, charging each with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and going armed to the terror of the people.

Kenneth Joyner, who is being charged as an adult, was arrested Jan. 8 and is being held without bond at the Cabarrus Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Concord, according to HPD.

Johnny Joyner and Hubbard were both arrested Jan. 9 and are each being held without bond in the Richmond County Jail.

All three are scheduled to appear in court Jan. 29.

Online court records show Hubbard has pending charges of failing to carry a valid driver’s license and simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance from January of 2025.

Hubbard was convicted in Scotland County last month of driving after consuming alcohol under the age of 21. Records show additional charges of speeding and reckless driving to endanger were dismissed per a plea agreement.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
