MARSTON — The N.C. State Highway Patrol is still investigating a collision from last week that left one woman dead.
Troopers say the driver of a Ford pickup truck was towing a minivan north on U.S. 1 just after noon on Thursday, Aug. 5 when he pulled over near Marston Road to check a connection because he thought the safety chain had come loose.
The occupants of the truck reportedly were outside when a GMC SUV travelling south crossed the center lane, striking the truck and one of the occupants.
Troopers say 36-year-old Regina Rollins was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is still under investigation.
