RALEIGH — The Be Pro Be Proud NC Mobile Workshop will visit Rockingham Middle School in Rockingham, from September 16-17, 2026, giving local students a hands-on opportunity to explore careers in the skilled trades and learn about pathways to high-demand careers across North Carolina.

During the visit, students will step inside the Be Pro Be Proud NC Mobile Workshop to explore interactive exhibits and learn more about careers such as welding, HVAC, electrical, manufacturing and other skilled professions. The mobile experience gives students a firsthand look at career opportunities and helps them understand the education, training and skills needed to pursue them.

“North Carolina’s future depends on having a strong pipeline of skilled professionals ready to build, maintain and support our communities,” said Tim Minton, executive vice president of the North Carolina Home Builders Association, which operates Be Pro Be Proud NC through the N.C. Home Builders Charitable Foundation. “Be Pro Be Proud NC gives students an opportunity to experience skilled careers firsthand and see the rewarding, well-paying opportunities available to them right here in our state.”

The visit comes as North Carolina continues to see strong demand for skilled workers across a variety of industries. By introducing students to these career opportunities while they are still in school, Be Pro Be Proud NC aims to help students discover pathways that match their interests, skills and career goals.
