ROCKINGHAM — A man accused of a late December break-in allegedly had drugs on him when he got to the jail.
According to warrants, 23-year-old Camron Allen MIles, of Skyline Drive, broke into a building on Pinecrest Trail and stole a table saw and television on Dec. 27.
Miles is also accused of breaking into a GMC Denali the same day.
Following his arrest, officers allegedly found a gram of meth, three Xanax pills and four suboxone pills on his person at the jail.
He is also accused of having a set of scales.
Miles was given a $10,000 secured bond when charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and breaking and entering a motor vehicle.
His bond was higher —$25,000 secured — on the drug charges: possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver methamphetamine; possession of a controlled substance on jail premises; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He has since been released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on those charges Jan. 9.
Online court records show Miles has a Feb. 3 court appearance on the following pending charges: two counts each of felony breaking and entering and misdemeanor injury to real property; one count each of felony larceny after breaking and entering and misdemeanor larceny.
Miles already has larceny convictions in two neighboring counties, according to records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction.
In 2016, he was convicted of two counts of misdemeanor larceny in Anson County and one count in Moore County.
He received probation in both cases.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
