ROCKINGHAM — A man is facing several charges after allegedly being caught with meth following a robbery arrest.

According to warrants, 25-year-old Andru Bryson Deberry, of East Rockingham, conspired with two other people to rob a man on Aug. 26.

Deberry is accused of hitting the reported victim in the head and body with closed fists, and stealing a 2006 Dodge Ram, a Yamaha Raptor four-wheeler and an iPhone 15.

An arrest warrant was issued Sept. 14, charging Deberry with: common law robbery; two counts of larceny of a motor vehicle; felony conspiracy; and assault and battery.

Deberry was arrested Sept. 23, when he is alleged to have been in possession of an unspecified quantity of meth.

He faces additional charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance on prison or jail premises.

Deberry is being held on a combined $160,000 secured bond and has court dates scheduled for Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.

It does not appear the other two alleged co-conspirators have been arrested.

Records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction show Deberry was on parole until June 19 after serving nearly four and a half years on a 2021 conviction for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

In 2019, Deberry was convicted of fleeing to elude arrest, aggressive driving and resisting an officer. He was given probation in that case.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
