ROCKINGHAM — A Cordova woman is facing trespassing, theft and drug charges following an incident last week.
According to a magistrate’s order, 19-year-old Jordan Nicole Wezyk, of Center Street in Cordova, went onto a posted property on Morrow Street on Jan. 15 and tampered with an electric meter belonging to Duke Progress Energy.
Wezyk also allegedly had an unspecified amount of suspected methamphetamine on her person, along with a glass pipe.
She was arrested without warrant and charged with a felony count of possession of methamphetamine, and one misdemeanor count each of possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree trespassing and utility theft.
As of Tuesday, she remained in the Richmond County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 6.
Online court records show Wezyk already has several pending charges.
She has a Jan. 23 court date on misdemeanor charges of possession of a Schedule II and Schedule IV controlled substance and up to a half-ounce of marijuana.
Wezyk also has Feb. 25 court appearance for a citation from the N.C. State Highway Patrol for failing to wear a seat belt as a driver.
Records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction show she has no prior convictions in the state.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
