HAMLET — A woman recently indicted on charges from the Rockingham Police Department is now accused of breaking into a vehicle in the Seaboard City.
Adrienne Genia McNair, 39, of Hamlet, allegedly broke into a car by opening the passenger-side door on April 15. She is accused of taking a wallet containing debit and credit cards, state and federal ID cards, and $500 in cash.
An arrest warrant was issued to the Hamlet Police Department on April 20, charging McNair with one felony count each of: breaking and entering a motor vehicle; larceny; and possession of stolen goods or property.
McNair was arrested the same day and initially held without bond due to already awaiting trial in another case. However, her bond was set at $25,000 secured during her first appearance on April 21. Her next court date in this case is April 30.
Online court records show McNair was charged with 10 criminal counts in February. Earlier this month, she was indicted on charges of obtaining property by false pretenses, attempted obtaining property by false pretenses, and identity theft. Her next appearance for that case is May 4.
Records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction show McNair was convicted in 2013 of misdemeanor larceny in both Richmond and Moore counties.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
