ROCKINGHAM — The Zerbini Family Circus returns to Rockingham Speedway for three performances this weekend.

The first show is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, May 2, and there are two shows slated for Saturday at 4 and 6 p.m.

According to the group’s Facebook page, the family has been in the circus business for more than 250 years.

Owner Alain Zerbini told the RO in 2022 that the circus began in his home country of France and said his son is the ninth generation of the family to be in the business.

Each 90-minute show features aerialists, acrobats, juggling, clowns, performing ponies, miniature donkeys, dogs and “a real life transforming car,” according to the Facebook page.

Tickets are available online and will also be sold at each show. Coupons are available around town and in the comments under the event Facebook post that will allow admission for one child aged 4-10 with the purchase of each ticket for those 11 or older. Kids 3 and under get in free.

The Zerbini Family Circus first came to the Rock in 2022 and had several performances last year.

The travelling show will be in Carthage on Thursday and, after two days in Rockingham, will head to Wilson and Henderson before moving into Virginia. It made a stop in Laurinburg last week.
