ROCKINGHAM — One weekend in April is already booked for the next five years at Rockingham Dragway.

The NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals will be returning to the Rock each year until 2029, organizers announced in a press release Tuesday.

The release states that both series, which have been running a “successful” joint event at the track and “look forward to our continued partnership with The Rock.”

The double-header debuted at Rockingham in 2022.

In addition to drag racing in multiple classes, the next five events will also include the Top of the Rock Thrill Festival featuring a BMX-style bike show and jet car showdown.

“What I can see, especially this last year, the All-Star Nationals is getting bigger and better. It’s quickly becoming one of NMRA and NMCA’s premier events,” Dan VanHorn, co-owner of Rockingham Dragway said in a press release.

“I know we’re competing against some world-class facilities and some world-class events, but we take that as a challenge,” VanHorn added. “I’ve been to a lot of different events, races, and tracks, but we consider the NMCA and NMRA at the top of the heap. Having their national event at our track, that’s a feather in all of our caps.”
