Hamlet Middle Junior Beta Club wins 3 awards at state convention

Hamlet Middle School's Junior Beta Club won first place in the Book Battle competition at the recent state convention.

HAMLET— Members of the Hamlet Middle School Junior Beta Club returned home recently with three awards, including one first-place honor.

The Book Battle team of Kinsie Lyerly, Natalie Ludlum, Diana McLester and Janashia Scott took first at the N.C. Junior Beta Hybrid State Convention held Jan. 30-Feb. 1 at the Sheraton Four Seasons Hotel and Koury Convention Center in Greensboro.

The team of Willie Breeden, Bayden Bendell, Owen Hancock, Robert Monroe, Sophia Garner and Anna Stogner won fourth place in Technology and Andrew He won fifth place in Eighth-Grade Math.

First- through fifth-place winners are eligible to compete at the national convention, which will be held June 27-30 in Nashville, Tennessee.
