ROCKINGHAM — A Hamlet woman is facing a trio of drug-related charges after allegedly being caught with meth.

An arrest warrant taken out by an investigator with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office alleges that 36-year-old Wendy Nicole Gazzo, of Beeler Avenue, was found with an unspecified amount of methamphetamine. The offense date is listed as March 28, 2018 through Jan. 7, 2021.

Deputies allege that Gazoo kept and sold meth from a 1993 Honda Accord and that she was also found with syringes and a straw.

She was arrested Jan. 7 and charged with one felony count each of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance; as well as one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Gazoo was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 21.

Online court records show Gazoo has no other pending charges.

In 2014, Gazoo was convicted on two counts of misdemeanor larceny and one misdemeanor count of financial card fraud, according to records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
