HAMLET — Investigators are looking into a weekend shooting that sent a man to a hospital.
According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call on Saturday, Sept. 16 that a man was at the emergency room of FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond with a gunshot wound.
The responding deputy reportedly learned that the unnamed victim had been shot “at a location” on Brandon Road, off of Battley Dairy Road south of Hamlet.
According to a press release issued Wednesday, deputies and investigators went to the area, found where the incident happened and processed the scene.
The victim was reportedly flown to an undisclosed trauma center for treatment of his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
