Investigators confirmed on Friday that William McDonald Jr., of Laurinburg, was killed around 11 p.m. the night of Monday, Nov. 6.

McDonald was reportedly in a vehicle that was shot at and subsequently crashed on County Home Road, according to investigators, who also confirmed that the victim was deceased by the time police arrived at the scene.

No other details have been released regarding the investigation.

According to his obituary with Lawrence Jackson Funeral Home, McDonald was 26 years old.

A GoFundMe account has been started by McDonald’s sister to help cover his funeral expenses.

According to the GoFundMe page, McDonald leaves behind three children — two sons and a daughter — his mother, and four siblings.

The description state’s that McDonald’s life was taken “due to stupidity.”

“He was a joy to be around (,) the hype of the party,” the description reads. “He didn’t bother no one and always kept a smile on his face.”
