ROCKINGHAM – Several local emergency crews were dispatched Friday night to a two-vehicle accident in front of the Kwick Check Truck Stop located on US Highway 1 South near the US 74 bypass.
The report came in at 7:12 p.m., and when first responders got to the scene, they found one vehicle in the roadway, while the other had skidded off the road. According to a witness who say the accident happen, said a white GMC pickup truck pulled out of the nearby Waffle House restaurant and was struck by an oncoming black Ford Mustang.
No one in either vehicle had injuries and declined to be transported to the hospital for further observations.
East Rockingham Fire Department and Cordova Fire Rescue were the first on the scene. Also responding were FirstHealth Richmond EMS and the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by Highway Patrol at the time of this publication.
