Car flips on Mill Road in Rockingham

ROCKINGHAM — Police and fire crews responded to a single-vehicle wreck that left a car flipped on its roof.

The wreck happened around 12:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Mill Road and Davis Street in front of Richmond Auto Sales.

According to Rockingham Fire Chief Harold Isler, the driver said she was looking for an item in the car, ran off the road, over-corrected and flipped the car.

A utility pole and a fire hydrant were damaged, but Isler said the pipe wasn’t broken.

Isler said the driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The Rockingham Police Department typically releases wreck reports after they have been approved the following day.
