ROCKINGHAM – The Richmond County Chamber of Commerce Connections After 5 for May was held Thursday, May 10 in downtown Rockingham.

It was a collaborative effort between RE/MAX Southern, Brown’s Termite and Pest Control, Simply Chic, Bold Moves, Kool Kakes and Evolution Health Club.

With the exception of Brown’s Termite, these are all businesses that have opened in the downtown Rockingham area within the past several years, helping to fuel the resurgence of the downtown area.

With the local band August Burning as entertainment and fabulous food by Rick’s Catering of Laurinburg, the crowd seemed to enjoy the evening.

The Rockingham Kiwanis Club sponsored a Beer Garden whose proceeds fund contributions to a scholarship for the early college at RichmondCC and Terrific Kids through the Richmond County School System.

All participating businesses had representation on hand to promote their business to the attendees and a large gift basket with items from each business was given away as a door prize.

Blake Altman, of Evolution Health Club, highlighted some new additions to his menu of classes which include Velocity Boot Camp, HITT, yoga and body shox.  He also has a mobile app available for members for paying monthly dues and keeping up with the class schedule.

Other upcoming Chamber of Commerce events are the 13th Annual Golf Scramble, Friday, June 1st and Hoptoberfest, Saturday, October 6th at 4:00 pm.  Tickets are now on sale at the Chamber office.
