Cordova Fire and Rescue Responds to Structure Fire

CORDOVA – Firefighters got the call of a single story building on fire Wednesday morning around 8:10 a.m. 

The structure was located at 572 Midway Road.

A neighbor reported seeing the smoke and notified the fire department.

On arrival, firefighters found smoke and flames exiting the structure.

After making entrance the fire was located and quickly extinguished.

Heavy smoke had to be alleviated before firefighters could enter the structure and check for hot spots.

Once an evaluation was conducted, the fire was marked under control at 9:01 a.m.

No one was at home at the time of the fire.

Cause of the fire had not been determined and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has been notified.

Responding : Cordova Fire and Rescue, Northside Fire Department, First Health Richmond EMS,  and Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office will continue the investigation.
