DOT and DMV Seek Vendors for Disaster Recovery Operations, License Plate Agency

RALEIGH – As the state recovers from the effects of Hurricanes Florence and Michael, the N.C. Department of Transportation is looking for vendors that can clear debris, provide facility support services, furnish necessary supplies and much more.  

NCDOT is committed to increasing and expanding diversity participation within the state emergency plan and operations. Certified Disadvantaged, Small, Minority and Woman-owned Business firms interested in disaster response and recovery opportunities should visit the NC Interactive Purchasing System (IPS) to register and have free access to projects in the various affected areas.

For contract opportunities, businesses must own preferred equipment for emergency response, be pre-qualified (for assistance visit Connect NCDOT Business Partner Resources), and have worker’s comp and general liability insurance. 

Work opportunities include hauling, clearing & grubbing, removal & demolition, pipe installation, traffic control, tree removal & landscaping, debris removal, cut & shove and more. After becoming prequalified, business owners should contact NCDOT Division Proposal Engineers to ask about available opportunities:

NCDMV Seeking Contract Applications for Moore Co. LPA
Applications due by Nov. 15 

RALEIGH – The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles is seeking applicants to operate a license plate agency (LPA) in northern Moore County. 

The agency, located at 101 North Middleton Street in Robbins, is currently operated under a contract that will end following the selection of a new operator.  The policy of the division is to open applications to operate a new or existing license plate agency at a point following the end of a contract or when a current contract is nearing expiration.  

Completed applications must be returned to NCDMV no later than Nov. 15.  The applications (Form MVR-93 or Form MVR-93AA) are located on the Connect NCDOT website.  Interested applicants may call 919-615-6053 with questions. 

LPAs offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags and duplicate registrations. Currently, 126 license plate agencies operate across North Carolina.
