ROCKINGHAM – “If your dream doesn’t scare you, it isn’t big enough” (author unknown).

Sierra McQueen realized her dream on Thursday, June 14, with the opening of her massage therapy studio on E. Franklin St in Rockingham.

The Richmond County Chamber of Commerce celebrated with Sierra by holding a Ribbon Cutting ceremony.  Chamber President Emily Tucker stated, “It is our job (as a Chamber) to promote you, to help you grow, and that’s what we are going to do.”

The waiting area of the massage studio was filled to capacity with well-wishers as Sierra spoke about her plans for her studio and how the name of her studio “East of Bliss” came about.  Marie EAST McQueen was her grandmother and Alonzo BLISS McQueen was her grandfather; they were instrumental in teaching Sierra how to work hard and chase her dreams.

Sierra has been a massage therapist for 3 years, working first with Murphy Chiropractic and then First Health Richmond. She is a graduate of the North Carolina School of Massage in Cornelius, NC.

Many people agree that massage has helped their bodies handle stress, relieve muscle tension and handle low back pain.  The American Massage Therapy Association lists 25 reasons to get a massage, some of which include: relieve tension headaches; sleep better; lower blood pressure; increase range of motion; and help chronic neck pain.

When asked about her choice of locations, Sierra states, “I am excited to be a part of the downtown community and am offering a great, relaxing atmosphere in Richmond County for a massage to manage stress or pain relief.  If you are looking for a unique massage experience, come see me!  Massage makes a great Father’s Day gift and I have gift certificates available!”

Sierra already has a satisfied customer!  Brandy Lunceford, one of the quests at the ribbon cutting today, stated “Sierra is very good!”

Contact Sierra by calling (910) 331-1555 to find out appointment availability.
