ROCKINGHAM — The twelfth new business to open in downtown Rockingham in the last two years held its ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday afternoon in a ceremony presented in partnership with the Richmond County Chamber of Commerce.

J-Reese Products, a residential and commercial cleaning products provider, officially opened its doors in downtown Rockingham on Tuesday evening with a large crowd in attendance. The ceremony was highlighted by speeches from Richmond County Chamber of Commerce President Emily Tucker, Chamber of Commerce chairman Chuck Cobb, Rockingham mayor Steve Morris, and Reese Bostic, owner of J-Reese Products.

Reese Bostic and his business partner Ronnie Covington launched J-Reese Products as a home-based business designed to offer a new line and brand of quality cleaning products that produce results to the community at affordable prices. The move to the new location in downtown Rockingham is a sign of the company’s growth, the expansion both Bostic and Covington envisioned from the beginning.

Bostic, who serves primarily as an Information Technology instructor at Richmond Community College in Hamlet, has always had a business acumen, mainly because of growing up in a family of business-minded people.

“My grandparents raised me, they were entrepreneurs,” Bostic said. “They never had any less than two businesses and they worked, so I’ve been doing this even since I was a little kid.”

Bostic’s wife, Mary, and children Jaleea and Shalana were in attendance along with several other friends and supporters.

Mayor Steve Morris, who recently retired from decades of owning and managing Helms Jewelers in downtown Rockingham, spoke of his start in the business arena.

“A few years ago I started my own business, so I know the fears involved as well as the smiles and joys that go along with it,” said Morris. “I’m sure you will do well, you have already proven yourself in your home business, and now you have a different location that will give you a little more exposure.”

J-Reese Products is located at 225 S Hancock St Suite E in downtown Rockingham. For more information, visit their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/jreeseproducts/.
