Man awaiting extradition to South Carolina

ROCKINGHAM — A man was sitting in the Richmond County Jail on Wednesday waiting to be extradited south of the border.

According to court records, 46-year-old Curtis Lorenzo Mosley is facing domestic violence and kidnapping charges in Richland County, South Carolina, filed by the Columbia Police Department.

According to an arrest report, Mosely was served the warrant by a Rockingham Police officer July 12 in the parking lot of Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N  Bar-B-Q.

Mosley appeared in court Wednesday.

Jail records show Mosely is also charged in Richmond County with failure to appear on a misdemeanor.

Records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety show Mosely has no prior convictions in this state.

South Carolina court records show Mosely has been convicted on traffic charges.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
