ROCKINGHAM – A local outlet for a world-renowned business, Merle Norman, participates in celebrating National Teachers Day in a unique way.

Merle Norman Cosmetics and Salon, located in the Richmond Plaza Shopping Center of Rockingham, thrives by selling cosmetics while also offering salon services such as spray tans, makeovers, massages, hair styling, manicures, and pedicures.

However, through Tuesday, May 8th, Merle Norman is offering another service to honor our Richmond County Teachers.  The public is encouraged to drop by Merle Norman during regular business hours to cast a nomination for a teacher that they believe has made a positive impact in their lives or their children’s lives. Multiple people can nominate educators, and each time they are nominated their name will be added to a drawing for a gift basket.

This appreciation basket is loaded with valuable certificates and gifts such as certificates for a spray tan, makeover, a 30 minute massage, haircut, gel manicure, and gifts of gourmet snacks, bath bombs, a hair care gift set and much more!

As stated by Kelly Monroe of Merle Norman, who started this event and donated these gifts, “I feel like teachers don’t get near enough appreciation for what they do for our children on a day-to-day basis.  This basket giveaway is just a small way for the staff of Merle Norman Cosmetics to say ‘thank you’ to the educators of Richmond County.”

Besides this educator appreciation giveaway, Merle Norman also gives back to the community by offering complimentary makeover services for local Live at 5 news anchors.  Again, if you have a local teacher in mind that you know deserves these lovely prizes and to be told they make a difference, simply stop by Merle Norman and nominate that special educator!
