Military using Richmond County Airport for night training

ROCKINGHAM —  You may hear some buzzing overhead the next few nights.

The Richmond County Airport announced on its Facebook page Monday that the military will be undergoing night training Tuesday-Friday.

Airport officials also said that the planes would be flying low during this time, adding that the grass runway will be closed and all pilot controlled lighting will be disabled.

Back in October, the 3-58th Airfield Operations Battalion based at Fort Bragg used the airport for a training exercise in controlling air traffic with help from the Civil Air Patrol.
