The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, arrested 20-year-old Kiaya Carlton Jackson, of Pinebluff, from his home on Friday, according to a press release issued Saturday.
He is charged with murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon and booked into the Richmond County Jail without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 5.
Jackson is accused of killing 24-year-old Nijamel Jaque Goodwin.

Online records show Jackson has no other pending charges or prior convictions in North Carolina.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Investigators say the case is still active and request that anyone who may have information to assist call the sheriff’s office at 910-895-3232 or Richmond County Crime Stoppers at 970-997-5454.
