Richmond County Sheriff’s Department Continues Focus on Drug Crimes

ROCKINGHAM  –  The Richmond County Sheriff’s Department  arrested two more persons charged with violations of North Carolina drug laws.

Subsequent to a controlled purchase of suspected crack cocaine, John Michael Gribbons, 40, of Mill Road in Rockingham was arrested on Wednesday, April 4th. 

Gribbons was charged with selling a Schedule II controlled substance; delivery of a Schedule II controlled substance; possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; and maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of manufacturing, storing, selling, or delivery of a controlled substance.

Gribbons was processed into the Richmond County Jail under a secured bond of $10,000.  

Another arrest for drug-related charges was made on the same day.  Julie Amanda Johnson, 42, of Morrow Street in Rockingham was arrested and charged with with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance; possession of marijuana; maintaining a vehicle for the sale and delivery of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. 

Johnson was processed into the Richmond County Jail under a secured bond of $10,000.
