Richmond County Sheriff’s Department Makes Arrests in Child Abuse Case

RICHMOND COUNTY – On Tuesday, May 15th and Wednesday, May 16th, following a Richmond County Department of Social Services report of possible child abuse, sheriff’s deputies investigated the situation and made arrests in conjunction with the case. 

 

Three persons were taken into custody and charged with child abuse.  

 

Austin Ray Campbell, 28, of 3rd Avenue in the Pee Dee section of Rockingham; Felicia Brigman Frey, 28, of Derby Road in Jackson Springs; and Jade Chantelle Brigman, 25, of Country Canyon Drive in Rockingham were arrested and charged with child abuse.  Campbell and Brigman were also charged with failure to appear in court on drug-related charges.  

 

Austin Ray Campbell was arrested for three (3) counts of felony child abuse; one (1) count of possession of methamphetamine; and one (1) count of failing to appear on a charge of simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.  Campbell was placed in the Richmond County Jail under a secured bond of $170,000. 

 

Felicia Brigman Frey was arrested for three (3) counts of misdemeanor child abuse.  Frey was placed in the Richmond County Jail under a secured bond of $1,500.

Jade Chantelle Brigman was arrested for one (1) count of felony child abuse and a failure to appear for a charge of marijuana paraphernalia possession.  Brigman was placed in the Richmond County Jail under a secured bond of $25,100.
