ROCKINGHAM – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office was active recently in making arrests for illegal drug-related activity.
Subsequent to controlled buys by Sheriff’s Office officers, two persons were arrested on Monday, March 26th, and charged with crimes related to suspected cocaine and/or suspected crack cocaine. Â
Lionel Perez Powell, 51, of 9th Avenue in the Aleo section of East Rockingham was arrested and charged with:Â four counts of sale and delivery of a Schedule II controlled substance; two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule II controlled substance; maintaining a dwelling for controlled substance activity; and misdemeanor child abuse.Â
Gladys Marie Warren, 23, of the same address was also arrested and charged with possession of cocaine; possession of drug paraphernalia; resisting a public officer; and misdemeanor child abuse.Â
The child abuse charge resulted from the suspects allegedly having a minor present while conducting illegal drug transactions.Â
Powell was placed in the Richmond County Jail under a secured bond of $25,000 while Warren was placed in the Richmond County Jail under a secured bond of $10,000.Â
All defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
