ROCKINGHAM — The Rockingham Police Department reports the arrest of two men – one of whom has a lengthy record of previous convictions – earlier in the month on charges of drug-related offenses.
Marquis Tayon Quick, 29, was arrested on Sunday, March 17th, and charged with one felony count of possession of marijuana; two felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver marijuana; and one misdemeanor count of resisting a public officer.
Quick was reportedly found to be in possession of slightly more than two ounces of marijuana.
Quick was processed into the Richmond County Jail under a secured bond of $5,000. Quick was noted to have no prior convictions according to NC Department of Public Safety records.
Another drug arrest was made by RPD on Wednesday, March 21st. Jimmie Jacobs, 47, was charged with one count of felony possession of cocaine and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jacobs was reportedly found to be in possession of cocaine, crack pipes (4) and a filtering item often used when smoking crack cocaine.
Jacobs was processed into the Richmond County Jail under a secured bond of $15,000.
Jacobs was noted to have multiple pending charges for traffic violations and several previous convictions, at least one of which entailed a prison sentence.
