ROCKINGHAM — Police are investigating a double homicide within the city limits.

Investigators with the Rockingham Police Department say two males were killed at 74 Car Wash on East Broad Avenue around 3:45 Sunday afternoon.

Contrary to reports on social media, investigators say no others were injured.

Police are not yet releasing the names or ages of the victims nor the manner of death.

According to investigators, one subject is being questioned but no charges had been filed or arrests made by 8 p.m.

The Hamlet Police Department, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and N.C. State Highway Patrol also responded to assist with scene control, as a large crowd had gathered in the area. FirstHealth EMS also responded.

The N.C. State Bureau of Investigation is assisting the RPD with the case.

Detectives say the investigation is ongoing.

There were four homicides in the city limits earlier this year.
