Scotland County man charged with stealing 3 trucks in Richmond County

ROCKINGHAM — A Scotland County man with charges already pending in three counties is now accused of stealing several trucks over the summer.

According to warrants, 21-year-old Zachery Earl Cribb, of Laurel Hill, stole a 2012 Dodge 3500 on June 29, a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado on July 15 and a 1995 Chevy truck, owned by Wilson Farms LLC, on Aug. 14.

Cribb was arrested Aug. 21 and charged with three felony counts each of breaking or entering a motor vehicle and larceny of a motor vehicle.

He was booked into the Richmond County Jail under a $45,000 secured bond, but records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction show he was admitted to Polk Correctional Institution on Aug. 30.

He is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 5 on those charges.

Online court records show Cribb is already facing more than a dozen similar charges:

  • Richmond – larceny of a motor vehicle 
  • Robeson – break or enter a trailer or aircraft
  • Scotland – possession of a stolen motor vehicle; possession of stolen goods or property; break or enter a motor vehicle; larceny of a motor vehicle; injury to personal property, first-degree trespassing; burning personal property; conspiracy; conspiracy to commit felony larceny; conspiracy to break and enter a building; breaking and entering; and larceny after breaking and entering.

He has court dates scheduled for Sept. 10, 11, 18 and 26.

Records show Cribb was convicted in Richmond County this past May on five counts of felony breaking and entering, and one felony count each of larceny, larceny of firearms, and breaking and entering a place of worship. He was given a 24-month suspended sentence.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
