Sheriff’s Department Deputies Make an Arrest on Multiple Charges

ROCKINGHAM – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Department reports an arrest from Wednesday, May 16th. 

Subsequent to a search of his residence, Lionell Perez Powell, 51, of 9th Avenue in the Aleo area of Rockingham was charged with possession of a firearm by convicted felon; possession of a stolen firearm; possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule I controlled substance (heroin); felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance; maintaining a dwelling for the manufacture and sale of controlled substance; possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance (cocaine); felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Powell was arrested and placed in the Richmond County Jail under a secured bond of $150,000 as well as a cash bond of $25,163.53 for child support.  

All defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
