Woman charged in East Rockingham burglary

ROCKINGHAM — A woman is facing a trio of charges after allegedly breaking into a home and stealing several items.

According to arrest warrants, 24-year-old Cameron Paige Odom, of South Street in East Rockingham, broke into an occupied neighboring home after midnight July 21.

Odom is accused of stealing four pairs of shoes, a “big sword,” assorted clothing, a bookbag with assorted paperwork, keys, knives and a remote control car.

She is also accused for running from Sgt. James Hamby with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office who was responding to the burglary call.

Odom was arrested and charged with one felony count each of first-degree burglary and larceny after breaking and entering, and a misdemeanor charge of resisting a public officer.

She was booked into the Richmond County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 13.

Online court records show Odom also has an Aug. 6 court appearance on felony charges of breaking and entering motor vehicles, larceny, possession of stolen goods or property, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and obtaining property by false pretenses.

Odom is also scheduled to appear in court Oct. 22 on a misdemeanor shoplifting charge.

Records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction show she has no prior convictions in the state.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
