ROCKINGHAM — Looking to fulfill his role as a senior shooting guard for the Richmond Senior High School basketball team, Dylan Lewis has had a pretty good run to start his final school year.
Lewis and the Raiders have spent the last month getting back into a regular routine, spending time working out at the high school and also playing in the 9 Dime Fall League. Through four games, the Raiders are 4-0 and sit at the top of the standings. Lewis also ranks in the top 10 in scoring, averaging 11.6 points per game (through three games).
Joining sports editor Kyle Pillar during one of Richmond’s recent team workouts, Lewis talks about what it takes to be successful in practice and on the floor during games. He also shows off the team’s new Dr. Dish shooting machine.
The Richmond program is still recovering from the unexpected loss of former teammate Jalen David, who died in late August. Lewis explains how the team is pushing forward and how the Raiders honor David every time they get together.
