ROCKINGHAM — Senior point guard Patrick McLaughlin has had a good run this fall for the Richmond Senior High School basketball team.

Joining sports editor Kyle Pillar in this edition of Courtside Chats, McLaughlin talks about his and the Raiders’ success in the 9 Dime Fall League. The development league, based in Fayetteville, has allowed Richmond’s players to hit the hardwood after missing spring and summer ball because of the pandemic.

Through four games, Richmond and volunteer head coach Maurice McLaurin are 4-0, which is first in the standings. McLaughlin is currently ranked in the top three in both assists and steals per game. He’s averaging 2.5 steals a contest (second in the league) and 4.0 assists per game (third in the league).
