ROCKINGHAM — Emy Cooley, a senior on the Richmond volleyball team, joins sports editor Kyle Pillar for the latest edition of Courtside Chats.

Cooley, who will serve as the Lady Raiders’ libero this fall, is a three-year varsity player under head coach Ashleigh Larsen. This will be her first season starting at libero, after picking up significant sets last fall as a defensive specialist.

The volleyball team returned to the gym for just the second time during the COVID-19 pandemic on Tuesday, as indoor workouts have resumed roughly a month and a half before the season is set to start on Nov. 4.

In her video interview, Cooley talks about how good it is to be back in the gym (and the air conditioning). She also praises Larsen for her continued efforts to hold safe and productive workouts and explains her expectations to be a leader at the libero spot in 2020.
