PHOTOS: Lady Raiders vs. South Mecklenburg

ROCKINGHAM — Facing a non-conference team was a non-issue for the Lady Raider basketball team Saturday.

Hosting South Mecklenburg High School, the Lady Raiders made quick work in a 49-26 victory.

Holding the Lady Sabres to just eight points in the first half, and four points in the fourth quarter, Richmond was led by junior point guard Jamyia Lindsey’s game-high 25 points and nine rebounds.

Freshman Madisen Jackson had eight points and nine rebounds, while senior Ryelan Lyerly and sophomore Jasiah Gilchrist each netted six points.

Senior MaKailah Jackson recorded a team-high 11 rebounds and scored two points. Also scoring two points was junior Rena Drake.

The Lady Raiders (9-4, 3-0) will return to Sandhills Athletic Conference play Tuesday at Union Pines High School (7-6, 1-1). Action will start at 6 p.m.
