ROCKINGHAM — A close match Thursday resulted in a one-point loss for the Richmond Senior High School girls’ tennis team.
Needing to take all three doubles matches, the Lady Raiders got only two of them in a 5-4 loss to Southern Lee High School.
No. 2 junior Jentry Denson and No. 3 senior Madison Grimes each won her respective singles match and combined to win the No. 2 doubles match.
Seniors Kenleigh Parker and Ava Thompson added the other victory in the No. 3 doubles pairing.

Richmond (2-3, 2-3 Sandhills Athletic Conference) will return to the court against Pinecrest High School at home Tuesday, starting at 4 p.m.
