ROCKINGHAM — Friday night lights had an extra glow to it at Raider Stadium this week as Richmond Senior High School held its annual football, cheerleading, marching band and color guard senior night.

The Raiders, who hosted Lee County High School, played their final regular-season home game.

Before kickoff, the team’s 21 senior football players were introduced by principal and public address announcer Jim Butler.

Players were escorted by family members and some were joined by a RSHS faculty representative of their choosing. Future plans, advice to younger players and favorite memories were among the information shared about each senior.

This year’s football seniors, in order by jersey number, were: Isaiah Lockhart, Jada Zimmerman, Jamison Jones, Darius Harris, Javian Drake, Jacob Wall, Linden Garcia, Marquan Martin, Nikeem Goodwin, David McNair, Jaliel Green, Lester Crawford, Jonathan Tyler, Camron Bowden, Devon Watkins, Johnny Lunceford, Ryan Martin, Konnor Carter, Braxton Jenks, Keyshawn Cole and Jacoby Martin.

Only one member of the cheerleading team was a senior this fall, flyer Sophia Chavis, a three-year varsity cheerleader for head coach Meredith Hood.

Also, 10 members of the Raider marching band and color guard were announced prior to the start of the game.
