ROCKINGHAM — Mrs. Alta Mae Lassiter McFadden, 91, of 149 E. Eason Drive, Rockingham, passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2019 at Pruitt Healthcare, Rockingham.
She was born Aug. 15, 1928, daughter of Joseph Benny Lassiter and Mary Creola McCaskill Lassiter.
Mrs. McFadden loved doing for others and was always a loving, caring and sweet person. She loved fishing, finding treasures at yard sales, and baking cake and pies, usually for others.
Her visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019 from 1-2 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home.
The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jerry Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Culdee Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 916 NC 73 Hwy., West End, NC 27376.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert Dean “Bob” McFadden of the home; daughters, Cathy Long of the home and Linda Poplin of Rockingham; son, Charles McFadden of West End; brother, Johnny Lassiter of Archdale; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
