Barbara Ann Patterson

HAMLET—Barbara Ann Patterson, 76, of Hamlet, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2021 at her home.

She was  born July 11, 1945 in Marlboro County, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Earl Henry and Theo Steen Robinson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert James Patterson Jr. in 2017.

Mrs. Patterson owned her own beauty shop for over 30 years. Mrs. Patterson passed away surrounded by her daughters. In her spare time Ann loved to work in her yard. This was a beauty to her and she spent a lot of time there every day, even if it was only walking around.

She truly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She came from a family of 10 siblings and she loved them all so dearly. Family was always important to her. She made many sacrifices for her family. Ann loved going to church when she was in good health. She loved her church family and the children in the church. That’s where her heart was, with the young children. She also loved to sing. She loved her gospel music. She was always smiling and carried a song in her heart.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Rockingham Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Andy Stewart, the Rev. Wayne Early and the Rev. June Grant officiating. Burial will follow at the Patterson Family Cemetery.

Surviving, her daughters, Kim Chavis (Rudy) of Hamlet, Kisa Stewart (Andy) of Rockingham and Patsy Robinson (Robin) of Hamlet; grandchildren, Jeffrey Moss Jr., Samantha Stewart Parsons, R.J. Stubbs, Noah Stubbs, Courtney Robinson, Brooke Robinson and Cheyanne Dawkins; great-grandchildren, Kensley, Jenson and Nelson Moss, Thomas and Owen Parsons, Bentley Sinclair and Grayson Stubbs, Anna and Jake Chance, Addalynn Dawkins and Delaney Walters; sisters, Delia Fowler of Florence South Carolina, Kathy Feagin of St. Matthews South Carolina; a brother, Sammy Robinson of Bennettsvile.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021 from 1-2 p.m. at Rockingham Wesleyan Church. 

Memorials may be made to Richmond Co. Hospice, 1119 US Hwy. 1 N. Rockingham, NC 28379.
