HAMLET — Mr. Billy Ray Sewell, Sr., 49, of Hamlet, passed away, Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at his residence.

He was born in Bennettsville, South Carolina, son of Charles Sewell and Sarah Thompson Sewell.

Mr. Sewell worked previously for Reliance Packaging as a printing operator. He never met a stranger and was always a pleasure to be around with his funny sense of humor. He loved his family and enjoyed his music whether playing his guitar or singing and really enjoyed a game of horseshoes!. He left us way too soon and will surely be missed.

An outdoor service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021 at 2 p.m., at Bible Freewill Church of Worship, 682 Hwy. 381, Hamlet. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. All guests will please wear a mask and continue to practice social distancing.
