ROCKINGHAM — Carol Ann Pankey Richardson, 79, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mrs. Richardson was born May 18, 1941 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Kenny and Odessa Blakely Pankey.
She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and had retired from Richmond County Schools.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Jimmy Richardson, Johnny Richardson and Donna Kay Cassidy; and sisters, Ruth Currie, Ella Prevette, EvaMae Hill, Mary Frances Roberts and Betty Layton.
Surviving are her husband, Legrand Richardson; daughter, Angie Martin (Alan); seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Jesse Pankey, and sister, Sadie Richardson.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 20201 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Strickland and the Rev. Wayne Luck officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friend from 2–3 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and at other times at the home. Face coverings are required and please remember social distancing.
