ROCKINGHAM — Christine Edwards Maree, 79, of Rockingham, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Mrs. Maree was born Aug. 20, 1939 in Richmond County, the daughter of the late Leo and Lucille Clark Edwards. She had retired from Glenwood Rest Home in Rockingham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael J. Benoist, and a brother, Leonard Edwards.
Surviving are her husband, Allen Maree of the home; daughter, Tina Medlin (Danny) of Charlotte; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and stepchildren, Linda Levine of Wadesboro, Gaye York of Rockingham and Elli Tarbell of Colorado.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with the Rev. Joe B. Wilkes Jr. officiating. Entombment will followed the Richmond County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family saw friends from 12:45-1:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
