Elouise Greene Wrenn

ELLERBE — Elouise Greene Wrenn, 93, of Ellerbe, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022.

Elouise was born Oct. 8, 1928 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Lexie Wayne and Mamie Haigler Greene.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Harry Wrenn; and siblings, Carmon Greene, Ward Greene, Lowell Greene, Dwayne Greene, Lexie Greene Jr. and Bobbie Greene Killinger.

Elouise enjoyed employment at the Richmond County Tax Office for 13 years and impacted the lives of countless students during her 24 years in the Richmond County School System. She never missed an opportunity to sharpen the reading skills of her “grands” and “great-grands.”

Elouise was a devoted member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Ellerbe. She was an inspiration to many through her greeting card ministry. She thoroughly enjoyed watching her hummingbirds and frequently shared her knowledge of them as well.

Known as “Nana” to her family, Elouise is survived by children Randy W. Wrenn (Debbie) of Rockingham and Julie W. Jones of Hamlet; grandchildren, Justin Wrenn (Jennifer), Jenny Williamson (Jody), Benjamin Jones and Julie Anna Jones; and great-grandchildren, Grayson Wrenn and Jacey Williamson.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Monroe officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 12:45 -1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church and at other times at the home.
