ROCKINGHAM — Fairley George Morgan, 87, of Rockingham, departed this life on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020.
Mr. Morgan was born May 6, 1933 in Richmond County, a son of the late James Benjamin and Essie Dale Thompson Morgan.
He had served his country in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force and was a member of Cameronian Presbyterian Church. He had retired from Burlington Industries and later was a delivery driver for Lowe’s.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his precious wife, Elizabeth Orr Morgan.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including his caregiver Linda D. Smith, with whom he has lived for the last several years; Claude Morgan Jr.; and his best friend, Bobby Austin.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020 at Northam Cemetery. Please wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
