MONROE — George Michael “Mike” McFayden, passed away peacefully on Feb. 8, 2022 at Atrium Health Hospice in Monroe.
He was loved by many and was a friend to all who knew him well.
He is predeceased by the love of his life, Sally; his parents, George Harris McFayden and Kathy Keele McFayden Alston; paternal grandparents and beloved aunts and uncles.
He is survived by many close family members and friends.
Mike was born in Pinehurst, July 27, 1954, and grew up in Ellerbe. He worked with Seaboard Coastline Railroad for many years and then worked at and retired from Hitachi Metals America.
As per Mike’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
