ROCKINGHAM — Linda Lee Grant Smith, 70, of Rockingham, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.
Mrs. Smith was born on Oct. 21, 1948 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late B.J. and Betty Shepherd Grant. She retired from J.C. Penny and was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Grant.
Surviving are her husband, Michael Flynn Smith of the home; her children, Betty Parrish (David) of Wadesboro, Shelley Lampley (Richard), Stephen Smith, adopted son, Fred Pratt, all of Hamlet; her grandchildren, Tori Kester of Rockingham, Karlee Rushing (Alec) of Texas; and sisters, Joan Benoist and Vickie Blevins, both of Rockingham.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with the Rev. Alan Hudson and the Rev. David Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
The family will see friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
